Getting to know the Housewives

Housewives Tarot - A Domestic Divination Kit by Paul Kepple and Jude Buffum, Quirk Books.

Today I'm going to have a closer look at the Housewives Tarot. As much as I like the New Deck Interviews I found on Aeclectic Tarot, I thought I should perhaps invent my own as it could help me to work with my own questions.

Here goes. I'll ask the Housewives the following questions :

1) What adjective do you think describes you best?
2) What will you help me with?
3) What would you rather not be bothered with?
4) What lesson can you teach me?
5) Your message for me?
6) What would you like to ask me?

I'll add a photo tomorrow. Right now I'm in the bedroom and the camera is downstairs. So I'll take a picture tomorrow.

1) Eight of Swords - "limited"
2) Knight of Swords - I'll help you cutting to the chase, giving clear-cut, no nonsense answers and I won't bother sugar coating things for you.
3) King of Pentacles - I don't like to answer job-related questions or anything that concerns finances.
4) Four of Cups - I can teach you where to draw a line and when it becomes "too much". Don't expect me to lose myself in details and ramblings. I'm concise.
5) Six of Swords and Queen of Pentacles jumper - Sometimes it is necessary to walk a path that does not look inviting or particularly risk-free in order to take care of the ones you love.
6) Queen of Wands - When are you going to get up and get started, huh?

What an opinionated yet fun and very straight-forward deck. I found this very surprising. I wouldn't have expected this deck to be so direct and in your face. But there you go.

As for the question the deck asked...I know what you're referring to and I'm going to start tomorrow. I promise.

  1. For me, job-related questions are actually one of the areas in which the Housewives work best. Interesting how differently we sometimes use our decks!

However, I totally agree: the Housewives are a lot less superficial, chatty and "nice" as they may look at first.

    1. The deck surprised me, too. It was fun to work with and very concise. I might try a job-related question anyway just to see if the deck was trying to take the mickey. :D
